Hi. I’m Shanelle Roberts, an award-winning product design leader and mentor who’s work has generated $100M+ in revenue, cost savings, and IP. I’m passionate about crafting great employee and candidate experiences because it empowers humans to deliver profitable outcomes while reaching their professional aspirations.
Do the right thing, when nobody and everybody is watching.
Find ways to work smarter, not harder. Focus on delivering desirable experiences and profitable outcomes.
Live the golden rule. Do unto others as you want them to do to you.
Look for the lesson, the insight and the opportunity in each problem, opportunity and experience.
“Complex problems are like trying to untangle a ball of yarn that’s all knotted up. It takes time, patience, and multiple perspectives to work through the knots and deliver a product or service that is usable, functional, beautiful, and profitable.”
Presume positive intent, then act with empathy & compassion.
Build healthy relationships by creating trust & rapport with each person on your team.
Focus the team on delivering positive outcomes, not just outputs.
When joining a new product or project, meet the team where they are, not where you want them to be.
Approach the work with the attitude that no matter what, we will either win or learn.
Create and document rules for engagement to foster collaboration and to engage in healthy conflict resolution.
Set work expectations and align everyone around the company's desired outcome(s).
"Failing to plan is planning to fail." Plan the work.
Foster curiosity by asking lots of questions.
Communicate frequently and consistently with your team.
Leverage technology & systems to speed up processes.
New products and/or features don't ship if they haven't been tested by users.
Whether companies are aware or not, how they hire employees and the candidate experience they provide directly impacts their bottom line. Intentionally designing the experience and monitoring it its impact can save companies time, money, and increase the lifetime value of a customer, especially for retailers and e-commerce businesses. A poor candidate experience can incentivize customers to move to a competitor, costing them revenue and lowering their lifetime value of a customer.
Designing successful career ladders helps employees to move from a job mentality to a career mentality, which can save companies money by reducing turnover and increase employee longevity. UX Design, as an industry, has struggled to craft successful career ladders. I'd love to help with that. AI is going to impact design careers in ways we haven't yet imagined.
As an introvert who loves words and books, reading and creative writing are 2 of the ways I unwind at the end of the day.
Exploring Lovable AI and Bolt.new to see how I can turn my ideas into usable digital products.
I help others remove mental blocks, limiting beliefs, and internal conflicts that hinder them from succeeding.
I love creating beautiful, functional spaces that let you relax and unwind. I've found stenciling is a great way to add visual interest without the permanence of wallpaper. They come in all kinds of patterns - animal, Morroccan, hand-written script and more.
